Route
100 travels straight through the heart of the Valley and is
a perfect way to enjoy the incredible beauty the Valley offers.
It also follows the Mad River, a swiftly moving, trout-filled
river with many swimming holes to cool off in.
From Route 100 one can hop onto
Route 17 for an amazing run up the Appalachian Gap. This favorite
among motorcyclists is a long and twisty road that takes one up
General Stark Mountain with spectacular views of the Mad River Valley.
On the way up, stop by Mad River Glen, one of the oldest ski
areas in the U.S. and home to the famous "single-chair"
chairlift. |
